DWTS 14 Week 8: Donald Driver is fun, fun, fun and tied for third

Monday night (7 May 2012)  on “Dancing with the Stars” season 14, Donald Driver and his partner Peta Murgatroyd received one of ten tens awarded. At the end of the night Driver and Murgatroyd with a little help from Karina Smirnoff, the team was tied for third with the team of Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas.

Driver has such a powerful presence that seems mean for tango. He does have problems fully extending his legs. A sharp, long leg position, particularly in lunge should make

Len Goodman called his routine a “knock out.”

Bruno Tonioli said he thought he was going to call a marriage counselor.

Carrie Ann Inaba said that his shapes were more dynamic. She asked for more nuanced drama, but Tonioli vocally disagreed.

For the Trio Challenge, Driver was one cool cat with two hot chicks at the jukebox joint.  And he can move his hips. The ending was pretty dramatic. Again, Driver could fully extend his legs. His ankles are often flexed when they should be

Goodman declared it “fun, fun, fun.”

Tonioli complimented Driver on keeping up with two firecrackers.

Inaba said she loved his three-way.

On Tuesday, Driver, Murgatroyd and Smirnoff were the team asked to reprise their high energy performance.

Driver and Murgatroyd have the high score for tango (27) and the jive (28). He can turn on the manly menacing machismo and yet smile with so much charm he lights up the stage. We want to see him in the finals, but this week, he easily made it into the semi-finals.  This is proof that not only do real men dance, but more football players should be dancing.
