DWTS: A real gentleman leaves the ballroom

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya were eliminated during week 8. What!? Is the whole state of Alaska voting for Bristol Palin?

Warner and Trebunskaya had a 21.6 average compared to Palin and Ballas who had a 20.6 average. Their best regular score for an individual dance would be a 24.

Warner was such a gentleman and had great stage charisma.

DWTS: Compare the waltz

Tony Dovolani had to wax his legs, but this week, he had a winner. His celebrity partner Audrina Patridge came through with two nines, the first nines of the season.

DWTS: Compare foxtrot routines

Foxtrot

  • Brandy and Maksim Chermkovskiy: 37/40 or 28 adjusted score.
  • Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough: 25
  • Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya: 23
  • Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer: 20
  • Mike Sorrentino and Karina Smirnoff: 20
  • Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas: 20

In this group, both Karina Smirnoff and Anna Trebunskaya came through with winning choreography. Mark Ballas had a story that didn’t make a whole lot of sense and the judges didn’t get it. Unfortunately, it was storytelling night and the lack of a clear story line made the whole dance problematic. Karina Smirnoff, on the other hand, came up with an idea that helped hide or took advantage of Sorrentino’s dancing deficits.

During week 5, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough performed the foxtrot to “Love and Marriage” for a score of 25.

During week 5, Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer performed the foxtrot to the theme from “Charlie’s Angels.” Their score was 20 (8, 5, 7).

During week 7, Brandy and Maksim Chermkovskiy danced the foxtrot to “Fever” by Peggy Lee, trying to interpret the dance done by Giles Marini and Cheryl Burke during season 9. The score was 37/40 (9, 9, 10, 9)

DWTS: Compare jive routines (VIDEOS)

The dance category had the high and low of the night. Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough were the high, repeating their score from last week.  Michael Bolton and Chelsie Hightower would be the low.

People were critical of the dog house and making Bolton act the part of a dog, but seriously, folks…the guy can’t dance. His musicality is all in his voice.

The athletes, Rick Fox with Cheryl Burke and Kurt Warner with Anna Trebunskaya were a joy to watch.

Jive:

  • Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough: 24 (8,8,8) “Shake It”
  • Brandy Norwood and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 21 (7,7,7) “Magic”
