  • The faded image of a jitterbug and a pointing finger
Ho ho
  • I will never hold you again and dance
  • When did you decide you would leave me?
  • The woman who was just laughing is a sad liar
Dance again
  • To hold you and dance again
  • Is this a bad dream? My struggling heart is soaked with tears
  • The fading memory of that jitterbug, good-bye echoes
  • Of your red shoes are silenced
  • Tonight
  • Tonight I can’t believe it
  • Lady
  • I will walk the streets of Lady Autumn alone
  • To be loved to love, it wasn’t enough
  • Ha…(I cannot feel so cool,Please stay)

Dance again

    (Stay with me…)

    (Stay with me…)

English lyrics

I feel so unsure
As I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor
As the music dies, something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen and all those sad goodbyes

I’m never gonna dance again
Cause guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it’s easy to pretend
I know you’re not a fool

I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste the chance that I’d been given
So I’m never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you

Time can never mend
The careless whispers of a good friend
To the heart and mind
Ignorance is kind
And there’s no comfort in the truth
Pain is all you’ll find

I’m never gonna dance again
Cause guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it’s easy to pretend
I know you’re not a fool

I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste the chance that I’d been given
So I’m never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you

Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose the crowd
Maybe it’s better this way
We’d hurt each other with the things we want to say

We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
But now who’s gonna dance with me?
Please stay

I’m never gonna dance again
Cause guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it’s easy to pretend
I know you’re not a fool

I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste the chance that I’d been given
So I’m never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you

The Dixie Chicks also recorded the song (music only) for the movie “Runaway Bride.”

Here’s a totally different song by the same name performed by a Swedish group, The Concretes (released in 2004).

From Examiner.com:

Is your gang of friends this hysterically funny when you play Charades? This is David Armand miming the words to Phil Collins’ “You Can’t Hurry Love” for Humphrey Ker and Jessica Ransom who try to guess the title of the song.

“Fast and Loose” is a new improv show on BBC created by Angst Productions. Hugh Dennis is the host and the cast are up and coming British comedy performers. Each episode has various improvised games and scenes based on material provided by the host or suggested by the audience.

Dennis calls is “the ultimate team sport, with a group of fantastically clever character actors.” It is a half hour of “controlled “improvised silliness and there is no scoring and no stars.”

The show is written by creator Dan Patterson with Geraldine Dowd as director and Patterson as producer.

“You Can’t Hurry Love” was originally recorded by The Supremes in 1966 (Motown). The song was written by Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland and Edward Holland (Holland-Dozier-Holland). It was a number one hit for the Supremes and in 1982/1983, it was a UK number one hit for Collins.

More recently the Dixie Chicks recorded the song for the soundtrack of the 1999 Richard Gere-Julia Roberts movie, “Runaway Bride.”

David Armand, the man performing the hilarious mime, is a 33-year-old English comedian. He was a member of the sketch comedy group The Hollow Men. He has appeared at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado (2003).

His interpretive dance, as the character Johann Lippowitz (an Austrian dance artist), to Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” on HBO in 2005 became a viral video.
