DWTS 14 Week 4: Roshon Fegan V. Waltzes to second

Again, this week on “Dancing with the Stars” season 14, the producer continue with this program of adding individual dances that seem out of context. Roshon Fegan and his partner Chelsie Hightower were the only couple that performed the  Viennese waltz while the others mostly performed either the tango or paso doble.
The unifying theme was Rock Week, but in many cases it was theme over actual dance. Not all the songs were well matched and for the celebrities, it must have been hard giving the feeling of the dance versus the feeling for the song.
Fegan and Hightower danced to “The Time of My Life” by David Cook.
Like many hip hop dancers who don’t have either ballet or modern dance training, Fegan has problems with extending his legs into straight lines. Sometimes there’s a wobble where there should be snap and extension and a bit of a sickled foot.
Bruno Tonioli commented, “You’re flying so high you can touch the sky” and added, “You extend your line through your hand and link everything in such a beautiful way.”
Carrie Ann Inaba brought us back to the parent company, saying, “You’re so cute it was like watching the climax of a Disney movie” and told him of the men he was the best dancer.
Len Goodman told him, “Good job dog,” which is what Fegan mentioned in the practice footage he wanted to hear from Goodman. Goodman noted that he needed to work on the reverse turn in how he crossed his feet, but found Fegan performed with great style and rotation.
Wish we could have seen Fegan dance either the paso doble or the tango and see how to compared to the other men. Fegan and Hightower ended the night tied for second place with Maria Menounos and Derek Hough who performed the tango.
