The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Mayweather had removed objects from Harris’ home and was now charged with grand larceny. Harris has three children fathered by Mayweather. According to the Review-Journal, she was taken to Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center after 3 a.m. on Thursday.
The police are investigating the allegations of domestic violence. Harris filed a temporary protection order against Mayweather Thursday afternoon and had accused Mayweather of domestic violence in the past, but had not pressed charges.
In 2002, Mayweather had pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor domestic violence charges. In a 2003 incident, Harris reported to Las Vegas police that Mayweather had assaulted her, but in the 2005 trial, she testified that she had lied about being assaulted and the jury subsequently acquitted Mayweather on felony domestic violence charges.
In an unrelated incident, Mayweather was convicted of beating two women at the Luxor hotel, receiving a one-year jail sentence that was suspended. He was ordered to undergo anger management counseling.
The 33-year-old Mayweather has a record of 25 knockouts. His last fight, his 41st, was in May against Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand Garden hotel.
During the fifth season of DWTS, Mayweather was paired with Karina Smirnoff. They were the fourth couple eliminated. Mayweather performed the cha cha cha to “The Way You Move” during week 1 for a score of 18 (6,6,6). For week 2, he performed the quickstep to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.” His score was a little better with straight sevens (21).
For week 3, his jive to “Mess Around” also received straight sevens (21) and he was in the bottom two.
Week 4, his paso doble to “Captain from Castille” was better with 23 (7, 8, 8) but he was eliminated.
