DWTS alum attend ‘West Side Story’ Pantages premiere
Do you love dancing? Of course, you do if you’ve been watching “Dancing with the Stars.” Wednesday, (1 December 2010) DWTS alums Cloris Leachman, Lisa Rinna and hubby Harry Hamlin, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Kym Johnson plus other celebrities will be attending opening night of “West Side Story” at the Pantages. Expect some great dancing in this musical that pitted the Jets against the Sharks.
TV host Rinna competed during season 2 with partner Louis van Amstel and finished 4th. 98 Degrees member Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke won that season with former NFL star Jerry Rice finishing second with Anna Trebunskaya. Hamlin competed during season 3 with Ashly DelGrosso and finished a dismal ninth out of 11. Former NFL star Emmitt Smith and Burke would win with Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff finishing second.
Broadway star Winokur was season 6 and danced with Tony Dovolani for a fourth place finish. Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas won that season. Cloris Leachman was season 7 and paired with Corky Ballas for a seventh place finish (out of 13. Brooke Burke and Derek Hough won that season.
Kym Johnson has competed on “Dancing with the Stars” in Australia and the US version. Her partners included:
