DWTS 14: Jaleel White

Poor Jaleel White! He created a character on a popular TV series that has gone on to haunt him. He was the nerdy Steve Urkel on “Family Matters” from 1989 to 1998 and also played other members of his family: Stefan Urquelle, Myrtle Urkel and Bruce Lee Urkel. He was in 204 episodes and he even did some writing. Before that, he broke into show business as a 3-year-old in a Kellogg’s commercial. White started “Family Matters” when he was 12.

White also supplied the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog from 1993-1994 and 1999-2000. That’s 65 episodes for “Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog,” 26 for “Sonice the Hedgehog, and 40 for “Sonic Underground.”  From 1999-2000, he was J. Calvin Frazier in the 22-episode series “Grown Ups.”

White had a bit part in the 2006 “Dreamgirls.” He guested on “Boson Legal” in 2007 and on “Psych” in 2009, “House” in 2011 and “NCIS” in 2012.

In 2009, he played a single man on a journey to Weddingland in the web series “Road to the Altar.”
