Donald Driver brings back what was missing last season–a football player. Many DWTS fans are also football fans it seems.

Drafted in the seventh round by the Green Bay Packers in 1999, Driver has spent his whole career in the NFL with the Packers playing wide receiver. Since 2005, Driver co-hosts a state Packer analysis TV show called “Inside the Huddle with Donald Driver.” He has written three children’s books: “Quickie Handles a Loss,” “Quickie Makes the Team,” and “Quickie Goes to the Big Game.” Quickie was his mother’s nickname for him.

Alcorn State is located in Lorman, Mississippi and was founded in 1871 on the site of what had been a white college established by a Presbyterian Church, Oakland College. Oakland College had closed so that the students could fight for the Confederacy at the start of the Civil War. After the Civil War, the property was sold to the state and named after the governor James L. Alcorn. It was a black men’s college until 1895, when women were admitted. Notable alumni include Medgar Evers (first NAACP field secretary), Alex Haley (author of “Roots”), Jakc Spinks, Jimmy Giles, Roynell Young, Jack Phillips, Milton Mack, Cedric Tillman, Dwayne White, Garry Lewis, Torrance Small, John Thierry, Steve McNair, Bryant Mix, Donte Dowers, Carlos Thorton, Terry Wilkerson and more.
