Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy fall (VIDEO)

So just what happened with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley? Chmerkovskiy took a tumble and took Alley with him. Why did this happen? Is he pushing himself too hard or was she too heavy.

In 1980, Alley moved to Los Angeles and her parents were in an accident in 1981 with her mother dying. Her father almost died. But she also got her first role in a “Star Trek” movie (1982 “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”). That’s why she chose this particular song which is about hope despite tragedy for Alley.

The song, “Over the Rainbow,” is sung by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole who was a Hawaiian musician who died at age 38 in 1997. He weighed in at 757 pounds. The medley of “Over the Rainbow” and “What a Wonderful World” was released in 1993.

It does point out one problem for the men–working with a woman who weighs as much or more than you can be a health risk. Chmerkovskiy was really sweet but do we really want to see Chmerkovskiy doing lifts with Alley? I don’t think so.

Despite the fall, Alley and Chmerkovskiy scored well enough.
